HMD Global has rolled out Android Pie for the Nokia 8 Sirocco. In a statement released to the press, the company revealed that Android Pie has started to roll out for the Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphone. With V4.120, the Android Pie update includes new system navigation, refreshed settings menu and notifications.
The latest Android Pie update also provides adaptive battery power for commonly used apps and services by users. It also brings in adaptive and optimized brightness levels including predictive application actions. After the installation of the update, you will be able to work with a device with December 2018 Google Android Security Patch.
The size of update is 1379.5 MB and hence you should make use of Wi-Fi to download the update. The company has warned that downloading the update over mobile will incur additional charges. It is also advisable to free up internal storage space to pave way for the installation of the update. The Android Pie for Nokia 8 Sirocco has been rolled out over OTA and hence it will take 1 to 2 weeks to download the software update.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco features a 5.5-inch (1440 x 2560, 16:9, 534PPI) P-OLED Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display, Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 graphics processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset draws power via the integrated 3260mAh battery. Moreover, the device is also resistant to dust and water via IP67 technology. The phone can be inserted for 30 minutes for up to 1.5m.
The rear side features dual camera comprising of 12MP and 13MP sensors with f/1.8 and f/2.6 aperture respectively. The camera also includes dual pixel PDAF and 2x optical zoom functionality. You will be able to shoot 2160P videos and FHD videos at 30 fps respectively. On the front, the handset offers a 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture including the ability to capture FHD videos at 30fps.
