Honor Play 8T Rumored To Conceal Massive Battery

Honor Play 8T Rumored To Conceal Massive Battery
  • PublishedOctober 17, 2023

Honor is gearing up for a launch scheduled for tomorrow, October 18, introducing a new smartphone Honor Play 8T. This upcoming device will boast a powerful 6000 mAh battery, a memory configuration of 12/256 GB, and features two rear cameras, with the primary camera boasting an impressive 50 MP. Furthermore, the official image reveals the presence of a single front-facing camera, cleverly concealed within a punch hole.

Remarkably, all these specifications, including the promoted 850 nits of brightness, are identical to those of the Honor Play 50 Plus. While the phones exhibit different designs, they share the same internal hardware. It’s conceivable that one of these models will target the online market in China, while the other will be designated for sale in physical brick-and-mortar stores.

This practice isn’t new for Honor. Previous iterations of both phone variants also followed a similar pattern. For instance, the Honor Play 7T and Honor Play 40 Plus were essentially the same, differing mainly in the name of the chipset, even if they used the same Dimensity product.

The Honor Play 50 Plus was initially launched at a competitive price of CNY1,399, which is less than $200, and it’s likely that the Honor Play 8T will be similarly priced. However, we will have the exact pricing details after the event taking place tomorrow.

Honor is a Chinese smartphone brand known for its innovative and value-driven approach to mobile technology. The company was founded in 2013 and originally served as a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, one of the world’s largest telecommunications and technology companies.

Honor’s primary focus has been on designing and manufacturing smartphones and other consumer electronics products. The brand quickly gained recognition for producing a wide range of smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other connected devices. Honor aimed to provide feature-rich, high-quality products at competitive prices, appealing to tech-savvy consumers, particularly in the mid-range and budget segments.

Notably, in November 2020, due to trade restrictions and challenges faced by its parent company, Huawei, Honor was spun off as an independent entity. This separation allowed Honor to operate more independently in the global market and forge partnerships with various component suppliers and software providers without the same constraints that affected Huawei.

Honor continued its mission to provide consumers with innovative and affordable technology solutions. However, for the most recent developments and information about the company, I recommend checking the latest news and sources, as my knowledge is based on information available up to September 2021.
