  • PublishedJanuary 2, 2021

Sony India has announced that the much-awaited PlayStation 5 will be available in India starting February 2. However, the company has ups the ante by throwing open pre-order for PlayStation 5 from January 12. The company took to Twitter and revealed that customers can pre-order the PlayStation 5 from Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, Shop at Sony, and Games The Shop including other multi-brand retail stores across India. You should note that the Sony PlayStation 5 is a high-demand product and hence supply for the product will be very low. You should wait if you are unable to pre-order the product due to stock problems.

The Sony PS5 hard drive model is priced at Rs 49990. The Digital Version of the product will be up for grabs for Rs 39990. The prices will be valid only for a short time and you will find it extremely difficult to buy the PlayStation 5 at this rate. Sony could increase the price once the pre-order window is closed.

The company requested customers not to depend upon Black Market and purchase the consoles only via authorized stores and e-commerce marketplaces to become eligible for warranty. If you buy PlayStation 5 via unauthorized sources, you will not be able to claim warranty.

Like all other Gadgets, the PS5 will have a warranty of 12 months with free replacement warranty for Indian customers. Sony will provide free unit if the original product fails to work during the first 12 months based on the terms and conditions. However, the DualSense controllers will not be eligible for warranty. Moreover, the PlayStation 5 is backward compatible with PlayStation 4 games. According to Jim Ryan, PlayStation CEO, nearly 99 percent of PlayStation 4 games are completely compatible with the upcoming PS5.

Sony PlayStation 5 Specifications

The Sony PlayStation 5 is integrated with AMD 9-core Zen 2 CPU running at 3.5GHz and AMD custom Graphics chipset based on RDNA2 architecture. The console provides support for 10.28 trillion floating-point operations per second coupled with 3D sound effects. The console ships with 16GB RAM with 825GB internal storage. However, the actual storage will be 650GB.
