Asus has announced the availability of ASUS ROG Phone II on Flipkart with immediate effect. The smartphone will be available during Flipkart Big Savings Day for INR 39999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant starting June 22.
According to Asus, they have absorbed the Rupee depreciation and GST increase to the tune of INR 2500 for the benefit of the tech-savvy community. As of this writing, the handset is listed on Flipkart but not yet available for sale. We expect the availability of the product by today midnight or at 8 PM for Flipkart Plus members.
It is to be noted that the Government of India increased the GST on smartphones from 12 percent to 18 percent starting April 1, 2020. Moreover, the value of the Indian Rupee depreciated significantly with the start of the COVID-19 lockdown. These dual changes have led to direct proportionate impact on the cost of smartphones.
Even though the price of ASUS ROG Phone II with the revised GST and depreciated INR rate has led to the huge spike over the tune of INR 42554, the company has revised the cost to INR 39999. With a 4.6 consumer rating on Flipkart, the smartphone continues to lead the premium device category.
Commenting on the development, Dinesh Sharma, Business Head, Mobiles, ASUS India disclosed that they have been excited and overwhelmed with the love that the community has shown towards the brand ROG. The product is keen to promote ROG Phone II. The smartphone is currently globally acclaimed and has won several prestigious awards for Best Gaming Smartphone of 2019. Sharma added that the company has decided to absorb INR 2555 increase on ROG Phone II despite adverse changes in the business environment. The management has decided not to pass the additional cost to their fans as part of the exclusive Flipkart Big Savings Day sale.
As part of the Flipkart Big Savings Day, you can purchase ASUS ROG Phone II only for INR 39999 from June 23 to June 27. The Walmart-owned retailer is offering a 10 percent instant discount for payments made via HDFC Bank Cards and EMI transactions.
Asus also announced a wide range of offers for other Asus smartphones. The Asus Max M1 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at INR 6499, while the 4GB model with 64GB storage will be up for grabs for INR 7499. The Max Pro M1 with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM variants will be available for INR 7999, 8999, and 11999 respectively.
The Max M2 will be listed for sale for INR 7999 and INR 9499. The Max Pro M2 with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM will be available for sale for INR 9999, INR 11999, and INR 13999 respectively as part of the Flipkart Big Savings Day. The advanced Asus 5Z with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage capacities will be up for sale for INR 16999, INR 18999, and INR 21999 respectively.
The Flipkart Big Savings Sale starts at 8 PM on June 22 for Flipkart Plus members. The sale for non-plus customers starts from midnight to June 27.
