Realme has announced a hike in the cost of Realme 2 and Realme C1 smartphones. The company CEO had taken to Twitter before Diwali and informed the world that the company will increase the price to offset the depreciation between INR and USD.

According to Madhav Sheth, Realme CEO, the company is facing low margins through product sales across various channels. The main reason for the price increase is due to the depreciation in INR. He also added that the company provided several offers during the recently concluded Diwali season.

Sheth revealed that the hike is required to improve product quality and also to bring real value to customers. As per the revised pricing, the Realme 2 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will be available at Rs 9499, which is an increase of Rs 509. The Realme C1 will be made available for Rs 7999 instead of the budget-friendly Rs 6999.

According to company sources, the substantial increase in the pricing will meet the expectations of the growing demands of customers. It will also help them to bring exciting products and services in the upcoming future.

As of now, the Oppo-backed company hasn’t hiked the price of Realme 2 Pro. It remains to be seen whether the company revises the pricing of other products. The company is also gearing up to release Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro with improved features and specifications.
