OnePlus has started to push OxygenOS 5.1.4 for OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones. Like in the case of the previous rollouts, the update is being released via an incremental basis. Hence, it will take a few days for the new update to hit the respective devices. If you are eligible, you will view a message notification. Otherwise, you should wait for few more days until the new update is made available.
The OxygenOS 5.1.4 includes Android security patch 2018.7 and also added sleep standby optimization. You can configure the related settings by navigating to Settings | Battery | Battery optimization | Advanced optimization | Sleep standby optimization.
After the installation of the OxygenOS 5.1.4 update, the image clarity produced by the camera has been improved. Moreover, OnePlus added group messaging functionality. The update also comes with general bug fixes related to Gallery.
If the sleep standby optimization is activated, the smartphone automatically adjusts the sleep pattern based on the usage. Moreover, the handset deactivates the network during specific periods of inactivity. The end result is that it reduces the standby power consumption. The system comes out of the sleep standby mode before you woke up and hence you won’t miss any notifications, updates, and emails.
You will view an update message notification when the OxygenOS 5.1.4 is made available. Alternatively, you can manually verify the presence of the update by tapping the Settings icon. Before proceeding to download the update, you should activate Wi-Fi and charge the handset up to 100 percent to avoid interruptions.
