Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer will be available for sale starting July 30 via a flash sale. Like in the case of the previous flash sales, the stocks are limited. However, the company hasn’t yet revealed the exact number of units allocated for the sale.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is equipped with a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED (1080 x 2248) Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display with support for HDR 10. The handset features Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage.
Unlike the Mi 8, the Explorer edition comes with 3000mAh battery. The handset is pre-loaded with MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. While the rear side features dual camera sensors comprising of 12MP sensors, the selfie camera offers a 20MP sensor. The handset comes with support for all major connectivity and sensors. The integration of USB Type-C port, which helps the device to charge quickly.
The main highlight of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is the addition of a fingerprint sensor with mini-Kinect Face unlock capability. The technology is identical to that of the iPhone X. The handset is currently available for sale in China but you need to wait for long time for the company to unveil the handset in emerging countries like India.
