Asus has rolled out Android Oreo update for the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom smartphone. With software version number V80.20.179.40, the Android Oreo update has been pushed to the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom handset with SKU ZE553KL.

In addition to the full-blown Android, the company also removed few pre-installed apps such as Minimove, PhotoCollage and Do It Later. Moreover, the gesture to open All Apps Menu has been changed to “swipe up”.

The company also revealed that the internal storage will decrease after the installation of the update. Hence, you should backup all your data either to your SD card or PC/laptop for safety purposes.

Before proceeding to install the update, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the device up to 100 percent. The update will measure more than 1.5GB and hence it will take a long time. If the charge is less, then you should connect the handset to the AC power.

According to Asus, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphones via OTA depending on the location. If you are eligible, you will view a message notification. Alternatively, you can manually verify the presence of the update by tapping the Settings | System menu.
