HMD Global has rolled out an update to provide 4G support for the second SIM card slot for the Nokia 7 Plus (TA-1046) and Nokia 6 (2018) (TA-1089) smartphones. The Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 devices were launched with support for one SIM slot at MWC 2018. The company also pushed May Android update along with the 4G support for Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6.

It is to be noted that the Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global had confirmed the availability of the 4G support for the second SIM card slot after listening to feedback from customers. Although Snapdragon 660 processor ships with 4G support for dual SIM card slots, the company only added the support for the first SIM card slot.

On the specifications front, the Nokia 7 Plus is equipped with a 6-inch FHD (1080×2160, 18:9) IPS display, Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo.

The rear side features dual camera comprising 12MP primary and 13MP secondary Zeiss camera sensors with f/1.75 and f/2.6 apertures respectively. The camera also offers support for 2x optical zoom, dual-tone LED Flash. The front side features a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

Powered by a 3800mAh battery, the Nokia 7 Plus provides support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS including a headphone port. Moreover, the device provides support for fast charging via USB Type-C 2.0 port.

Talking about the Nokia 6 (2018), the device flaunts a 5.5-inch FHD IPS display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, 16MP rear sensor, 8MP front-facing camera loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo-based on Android One. The phone also offers support for all major connectivity features and sensors.

It will take few days for the update to hit your devices. Alternatively, you can manually verify the presence of the update by tapping Settings menu. Before proceeding to install the update, you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid interruption. It is also advisable to charge the device up to 100 percent although it is not mandatory.
