OnePlus has officially launched the much-awaited OnePlus 6 at a launch event held in London. The device will launch in India on May 17 at 3 PM. The main highlight of OnePlus 6 is the integration of a notch on the front side. The notch will look similar to that of the iPhone X and will most likely accommodate the front camera, earpiece and proximity sensor.
The OnePlus 6 is equipped with a large 6.28-inch FHD+ (1080×2280, 19:9, 84%) Full Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone features a Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 630 graphics alongside 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. The addition of a Face Unlock functionality helps you to unlock the device within 0.4 seconds.
The OnePlus 6 features dual camera sensors comprising of 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor and 20MP secondary Sony IM376K sensor respectively. Moreover, the primary camera also provides support for OIS, EIS, HDR and Portrait Mode capabilities. On the front, the device features a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor with support for EIS in addition to the ability to record slow motion videos at 480fps.
The smartphone is pre-loaded with OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The company has promised Android P update within the next few days, although we don’t have an exact timeframe. That said, the OnePlus 6 is an excellent phone because of the Android P. You will be able to work with a wide range of features.
The OnePlus 6 also provides support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, NFC, GPS, A-GPS including a traditional headphone port. The device also offers sensors such as face recognition using which you can unlock the device easily. A 3300mAh battery supplies the required power with support for dash charging technology.
