Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were launched in 2017 and the latest news is that the company has rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for users based in China. With the availability of Android Oreo, users will be able to experience the latest features included with the operating platform. Moreover, the update also includes improvements and bug fixes coupled with several new features.
With Android 8.0 oreo, Samsung has introduced Samsung Experience 9.0 to the Galaxy S8 series, which is incredibly faster when compared to previous counterparts. The addition of biometrics helps you to use Face, Iris, and Fingerprint for unlocking the smartphone.
You will find notification badges on home screen icons including contextual options when you press and hold on an app icon. The keyboard has been refreshed with a new toolbar, which you can access quickly. The update also brings in a new Bixby panel.
It is to be noted that the Android 8.0 Oreo update measures 1396.38MB in size. If you are located in China and work with Samsung Galaxy S8, you will receive the update via OTA. It will take few days for the update to hit your smartphone depending on the location. You can also manually check for the presence of the update by navigating to Settings icon.
You should charge the device up to 100 percent to avoid interruptions. If the charging capacity is less, then you should plug in the handset to AC power source. Moreover, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to avoid interruptions. It’s not feasible to download the update via 4G unless you have unlimited bandwidth or higher than 1.5GB bandwidth per day.
