Xiaomi disclosed that sales from the retail online platform will decline about 70 percent in the upcoming months. The company said that slowdown in online growth will boost the offline market in India. The Lei-Jun company added that nearly 80 percent of the overall sales come from the online route. However, the share has considerably reduced from 95 percent within one year.
Commenting on the development, Raghu Reddy, Online Sales, Xiaomi India revealed that the overall sales arising from the online segment will reduce to 70 percent within one year. The company has spiked the offline presence across India in the last 12 months. Meanwhile, he added that Redmi Note 4 manufacturer has an overall market share of 50.8 percent in the online smartphone segment during Q3 2017.
As of this writing, Xiaomi has a presence in over 15 cities with 1000 sales points in partnership with the franchise. Furthermore, the company also established over 14 exclusive stores all over India. Reddy said that the company will establish a presence in other cities after consolidation. The company wants to build a solid base in the offline segment before venturing other destinations.
