  • PublishedMay 28, 2020

After a lull, Samsung has started to roll out Android 10 for the Samsung Galaxy A50 smartphone in India. The company has suspended the push of updates due to the COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020. Even though the company had announced that the updates will be available after the end of the lockdown, the first push was made to the Galaxy S50 handset.

With software version A505FDDU4BTC8, the Android 10 update for the Galaxy A50 measures over 1.8GB. Hence, you should activate Wi-Fi to download the update. The update brings in One UI paired with March 2020 security patch. It will take few days for the update to hit your smartphone depending upon your location.

Samsung had to pull back the Android 10 update for the Galaxy A50 smartphone due to the series of bugs. After the installation, users complained of several software-related bugs. The company is currently rolling out a 150MB update, which fixes all the software bugs. Meanwhile, Samsung also had to halt the rollout of the Galaxy A70 update in April 2020 due to bugs.

The One UI 2.0 included with Android 10 update provides support for dark mode, smoother animations, navigation gestures, refreshed icons including a redesigned Device Care section, and much more. The update also displays an improved text over wallpapers with a dedicated media and devices section in the quick settings panel. You will be able to work with digital wellbeing.

You will receive an update message notification via OTA. The update is being pushed under a phased manner and hence it will take several days to hit the device. Alternatively, you can manually check for the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | System update option. You should tap Download and install to initiate the download process.
