Xiaomi is slated to launch the much-awaited Redmi S2 in China. The launch event will be held at Suning.com headquarters in Nanjing city. If you are unaware, Suning is the authorized sales partner for the smartphone. The Redmi S2 has been listed on TENAA and 3C including Aliexpress.
The Redmi S2 is equipped with a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440×720) display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB expandable internal storage pre-loaded with MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. A 3080mAh battery supplies the required power to the handset. You will be able to extend the storage up to 256GB.
The rear side will most likely feature a combination of 12MP and 5MP sensors housed vertically. On the front, you can expect a 16MP sensor with AI portrait mode and AI beautification capabilities.
There are reports that Redmi S2 will be made available in three variants. While the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage will cost CNY 1000, the model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will be priced at $165.99. The premium model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will cost somewhere between $225, although we don’t have any confirmation.
