Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Gets Better With April Security Patch

Xiaomi has pushed the April security patch for the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphone in India. With software firmware version MiUi v11.0.2.0.QJXINXM, the update is currently being rolled out in a phased manner. If you are unable to view the update message notification, you should wait for few days because of the nature of the OTA update. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max update includes no additional features except the regular security fixes via the April security patch.

Xiaomi is currently shipping out the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max to customers in Orange and Green zones respectively. Amazon also started to ship out the devices after the Government relaxed the guidelines during the start of the third phase of the lockdown.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Specifications

The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max features a 6.67-inch IPS Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display with the Aura balance design. The 60Hz refresh rate is coupled with a 120Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 720G processor with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. The device ships with 128GB storage with support for UFS 2.1 expandable internal storage.

The rear side features a 64MP primary camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide-angle, a 5MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensors respectively. On the front, you will work with a 32MP camera with AI support. While the 6GB RAM model comes with 64GB storage and is priced at INR 16499, the 128GB variant is up for grabs at INR 17999. The 8GB RAM model with 128GB storage is available for INR 19999.

You will view the update message notification if the April security update is available for your device. The update is currently being pushed via OTA and hence will take few days to hit your handset. Alternatively, you can also manually check for the presence of the update by tapping of Settings | About phone | System update.
