Oppo has added a new color variant to a premium smartphone. This time, it’s Reno 7 5G New Year Edition in Velvet Red color. It’s to be noted that the Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition has been launched only in China and hence the new Velvet Red color variant will be made available only in China. It remains to be seen as to whether the company will launch the device in India. The smartphone also includes a tiger symbol on the rear panel. The main reason behind the tiger symbol is that the upcoming year is celebrated as the Year of the Tiger in China.

The Oppo Reno 7 5G is a premium mid-range smartphone and the new special edition is priced identical to that of the standard version. The Oppo Reno 7 5G New Year Edition is available in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2699 (INR 32000), while the 256GB storage is up for grabs for CNY 2999 (INR 36000). The premium 12GB RAM model with 256GB storage is available for CNY 3299, which equates to INR 39000.

The Oppo Reno 7 5G New year Edition flaunts a 6.55-inch AMOLED HDR10+ Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display with 90Hz refresh rate and 500-nits brightness. The resolution of 1080×2400 pixels coupled with 20:9 aspect ratio and 402PPI density enable users to visualize vibrant visuals. Under the hood, the New Year edition of the Oppo Reno 7 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max 5G processor, ARM G77 MC9 graphics, 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The primary camera offers a triple camera comprising of 50MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an unspecified sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The camera includes features such as LED Flash, HDR and Panorama. The front-facing camera offers a 32MP (f/2.4 aperture) sensor with the ability to shoot FHD video at 30fps. The notable absence is the headphone port. The phone is pre-loaded with ColorOS 12 based on Android 11 operating platform.
