Intex has launched Intex Indie 5 with 5-inch HD display and MediaTek processor. However, the smartphone comes with a traditional 16:9 display instead of the 18:9 aspect ratio. The Intex Indie 5 will be available at a budget price of Rs 4999 in Black color option.
On the specifications front, the Intex Indie 5 is equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display, MediaTek 6737 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android7.0 Oreo. The screen is protected with a Dragontrail 2.5D curved glass and the chipset runs at 1.25GHz, which is ideal for running moderate apps.
While the rear side offers an 8MP sensor with support for autofocus, the front-facing camera features an 8MP sensor alongside LED Flash. Moreover, the sensors provide support for beautification mode, panorama, and HDR. The attraction of the Indie 5 is the integration of a 4000mAh battery, which is capable of delivering 200 hours of standby time and6 hours of4G LTE.
In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Intex Indie 5 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and A-GPS. Moreover, the phone comes with a traditional headphone port. Inside the handset, you will find a QR scanner app, Gaana, and Amazon Priem Video apps. The interesting point to note is that the phone ships with SwiftKey app using which you can enhance the automated typing skills.
