Motorola has refreshed the Moto camera app ahead of the Moto G6 series launch on April 19. In addition to the Moto G6 smartphones, the refreshed Moto Camera app will also be made available to all the upcoming smartphones.

The app icon has also been updated alongside the camera app. You will not find a standard icon against a plain dark blue background instead of the hexagonal-shaped icon. the user interface has been updated in such a way to provide not only a modern look but also to ensure simplicity. If you use a Moto handset with the dual camera on the rear, you will find a button near the top to wap between the two cameras.

The camera dashboard features three sections such as photo, video and mode select. It is possible to swipe the screen to navigate between various sections. The HDR mode toggling option, flash, timer and manual mode are placed on the top side. You can choose options such as slow-motion video, panoramas and camera settings from the mode select section.

Motorola has rolled out the Moto Camera app update in a phased manner. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphones. According to sources, the availability of the update will be delayed for older smartphones. The upcoming Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and the Moto G6 Plus will be refreshed with the updated app.

As the name suggests, the Moto G6 Plus will be the expensive device with a 5.93-inch FHD+ bezel-less display and Snapdragon 630 processor. The Moto G6 smartphone features a 5.7-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 450 processor, 32GB storage and a 3000mAh battery.

The Moto G6 Play also contains the same display size as the standard variant but with HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 427 processor and 4000mAh battery. While the Moto G6 features a single camera, the Play offers dual rear cameras. We will continue to keep track of the developments and provide updates.
