Swipe has launched a new tablet named Swipe Slate Pro in Champagne Gold at Rs. 8499. The main attraction of Swipe Slate Pro is the integration of a 5000mAh battery coupled with 4G VoLTE connectivity. It’s rare to find a tablet with 4G and Swipe has carved a niche in this segment.
Display
The Swipe Slate Pro is equipped with a 10.1-inch HD IPS display with thick bezels on all the sides. The company has tagged the smartphone as the affordable 10-inch display tablet in India. However, the price should be around Rs. 5999 if Swipe really needs to market the device as a budget-centric tablet.
Performance
On the internals, the Swipe Slate Pro features a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The processor runs at a clock speed of 1.1GHz.
We wonder why the company hasn’t infused Android Nougat since Marshmallow is very much outdated. If you would like to perform tasks related to e-mail, word processing, and web browsing, then the software is sufficient. However, since you invest around Rs. 8000, the company should ship the tablet with Android Nougat.
Camera
On the optics, the Swipe Slate Pro features a 5MP camera on the rear coupled with a 2MP front camera to enable you to capture selfies. Don’t expect too much from the cameras because of the low capacity. However, it will be somewhat sufficient for interacting with your family.
Battery
Powered by a 5000mAh battery, the Swipe Slate Pro provides support for 4G VoLTE paired with DUal SIM functionality. Moreover, the tablet also offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth including a traditional 3.5mm headphone port.
Pricing and Availability
The Swipe Slate Pro is currently available on Flipkart only in Champagne Gold color variant at Rs. 8499. From our point of view, the pricing is a tad high for a tablet with Android Marshmallow. If you would like to purchase a 4G tablet with Android Nougat, you can try Alcatel T3 available at a lower price. It is to be noted that the Alcatel tablet is priced at Rs. 9999 but Flipkart provides exclusive discounts during Big Shopping Days.
