Xiaomi recently released Redmi Note 5 Pro with improved specifications. Asus also launched the budget killer smartphone named – Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 with excellent features. You can buy different models of these two handsets. In this article, we will compare the specifications of the two handsets.

Display

Both Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro feature a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The Note 5 Pro offers 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Performance

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is integrated with a Snapdragon 636 processor, Adreno 509 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable (128GB) internal storage loaded with Android Nougat 7.1.2 platform. Meanwhile, the Zenfone Max Pro features Snapdragon 636 processor, Adreno 509 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable (2TB) storage loaded with Android Oreo 8 operating system.

Camera

The Redmi Note 5 Pro bears dual camera sensors comprising of 12MP and 5MP sensors. The primary sensor offers f/2.2 aperture with the 5P lens. The secondary 5MP sensor will have f/2.0 aperture with 4P Lens and PDAF support. On the front, the handset offers a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro also offers dual camera sensors comprising of 13MP and 5MP sensors with support for f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. The sensors also provide support for Bokeh and 10 different beauty modes. The selfie camera comes with an 8MP sensor coupled with a f/2.2 aperture. The 6GB RAM variant will ship with 16MP and 5MP rear camera with a large 16MP front-facing camera.

We referred to the reviews and understood that the front camera in the Asus camera is not as per industry standards when compared with the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Battery

Like in the case of all smartphones, the Redmi Note 5 Pro offers 4000mAh battery. Asus has embedded a large 5000mAh battery with reverse charging functionality.

Connectivity

Both smartphones provide support for all standard connectivity functionalities and sensors. You will find fingerprint sensor in both the handsets including face unlock. It is to be noted that both Xiaomi and Asus has been continuously releasing new updates with bug fixes and improvements.

Price

Xiaomi has hiked the price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the phone retails to Rs 14999. The hike was due to the increase in the import duties. Asus has priced the handset aggressively. The standard 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 10999, while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage costs Rs 12999. If you would like to purchase a 6GB RAM model, you will have to invest Rs 14999, which is the same price as the Redmi Note 5 Pro. You can buy 6GB RAM phone for Rs 14999, which is really tempting and aggressive. The reviews suggest that Xiaomi has integrated improved camera sensors and the output looks brilliant. That said, Asus needs to improve the camera a lot.
