Realme has become the third largest smartphone brand in India within 6 months of the launch. According to the latest report published by Counterpoint, Realme has grabbed a huge market share from the various competitors and is now India’s third largest smartphone brand. The main reason for the huge growth is due to the robust range of trending products.
The report reveals that Realme posted a record performance from October 9 to November 8 during the Diwali festive season. The company has taken over Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo when it comes to Chinese brands. Apple is having a bad response since the newly launched handsets don’t generate much hype among the technical community.
Commenting on the development, Counterpoint’s associate director Tarun Pathak disclosed that the company has captured 9 percent market share n terms of overall sales and volume performance. Moreover, Realme has become the second largest in the online segment with 18 percent share. The findings also state that Huawei and Vivo also showed exceptional performance in offline retail channels. Moreover, Xiaomi, Samsung, and Realme fetched 29%, 19%, and 9% market share respectively.
Realme established the presence in India in May 2018 with the launch of Realme 1 followed by Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1. The company launched Realme U1 on November 28, 2018, with the latest Helio P70 processor. That said, the smartphone market is dominated by Xiaomi because of the wide range of products. The release of Pocofone was a step in the right direction followed by Redmi Note 6 Pro.
