Nokia 5.1 Plus Gets Better With Android 9 Pie Update

HMD Global has started to push Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone. The update for the Nokia 5.1 Plus is being rolled out over OTA and will hit the respective devices within the next few days. In addition to the Android 9 Pie update, the latest software bits for Nokia 5.1 Plus also includes December 2018 security patch level.

Juho Sarvikas aka @sarvikas took to Twitter and revealed that the company is now starting Android 9 rollout for Nokia 5 Plus. He also asked customers that they still have some space for dessert. With software build number V2.09B, the latest update measures 1.2GB in capacity.

Like in the case of all other updates, you will have to make use of Wi-Fi to download the updates. However, if you have a premium 4G connectivity with more than 1.5GB daily bandwidth limit, you can download the update. However, it is advisable to use Wi-Fi to avoid interruptions. After the installation of the update, you will be able to work with enhanced system navigation, settings menu including a refreshed navigation panel.

You will view a message notification when the update is made available to your device. If you are unable to view any notification, you should wait for the availability of the software update. Alternatively, you can check for the presence of the update by tapping Settings menu. You should also ideally free up storage space and activate Wi-Fi before proceeding to download the update.
