HMD Global has announced the launch of the much-awaited Nokia 2. Touted as the budget-friendly smartphone, the Nokia 2 is pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. During the launch event, the company sources revealed to us that they will push monthly security updates including an assured update to Android 8.0 Oreo.
The main attraction of Nokia 2 is its ability to deliver 2 days of battery life. Moreover, the handset also provides water-resistant support via IP52 technology. Designed using crafted 6000 Series aluminum, the Nokia 2 features a sculpted polycarbonate on the rear.
The Nokia 2 is equipped with a 5-inch HD LTPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen will not be damaged even if you scratch the surface. The company disclosed that the 5-inch HD LTPS display is premium with a 1:1300 contrast ratio.

On the internals, the Nokia 2 features a Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB expandable (up to 128GB) internal storage powered by a 4100mAh battery. The phone also comes with Google Assistant to enable you to interact with the voice-enabled digital assistant.
While the rear side offers a 8MP sensor with support for autofocus and LED Flash, the front-facing camera bears a 5MP sensor with a fixed-focus lens. The phone measures slightly thicker at 9.30mm, which is high when compared to the previous counterparts.
In addition to 4G VoLTE, the new Nokia hanset provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS including a traditional headphone port and standard sensors.
Price and Release Date
HMD Global concealed the price and availability of the Nokia 2 during the official launch. However, the smartphone will hit the retail shelves in the US at EUR 99, which approximates to Rs. 7500. Expected to be available from November 15, the smartphone will be available in Pewter Black, Pewter White, and Copper color variants.
