Huawei has launched the Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) and is expected to hit retail shelves within the next few days. The main attraction of the Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) is the addition of Face Unlock capability coupled with Android 8.1 Oreo. Moreover, the device will be made available in both single-SIM (DRA-L02) and dual-SIM (DRA-L22) slots.

The the Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) features a 5.45-inch HD+ (720×1440) display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage extendable up to 256GB. While the rear side features a 13MP sensor, the front-facing camera bears a 5MP sensor. It is possible to extend the storage up to 256GB via microSD card slot.

Even though the handset doesn’t provide support for Face Unlock, you can expect an update within the next couple of days. The company revealed that a fresh update to Face Unlock will be made available via OTA. A powerful 3020mAh battery with Power Saving 6.0 technology supplies the required power to the device.

In addition to 4G LTE, the Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, and Glonass. The device also provides sensors such as ambient light, proximity and an accelerometer.

The Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) is capable of delivering up to 62 hours and 13 hours of music and video playback. The thickness of the handset is a bit high at 8.33mm, which is higher than competing smartphones. However, the weight of the phone is on a low side with 142 grams.
